T-Hawk Simulator InstallationT-Hawk Simulator Installation
FMS version 2.0 Beta 7 for Windows XP / Vista / Windows7
Follow these steps to download and install the free FMS software to fly the T-Hawk using the New GWS FMS GP controller.
Please note only Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 is supported and only with the GWS FMS controller we offer.
All of the required files may be conveniently and safely downloaded from our secure Yahoo! servers using the links provided below.
  1. Un-install any previous installations of FMS
  2. Restart your XP/Vista/Windows 7 computer
  3. Connect the USB Joystick controller and wait for the auto pop-up message informing you that new hardware was found and installed.
  4. Click on the following link to download the setup file required to install FMS 2.0 beta 7.
    1. fms-v2b7-setup.exe
  5. Open the setup file to launch the FMS installation and proceed as follows.
    1. Choose English
    2. Agree to Terms
    3. Accept the default Destination Directory "C:\Program Files\FMS"
    4. Uncheck the box asking to launch FMS (We do not want to open FMS at this time)
    5. Click Finish
  6. For Windows XP skip to step 7. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 you will need to install the missing library D3DRM.DLL.
    For Windows Vista click on the following link and download to C:\Windows\System32
    For Windows 7 click on the following link and download to C:\Windows\System
    (Be very careful not to delete or change any files in this folder!)
    1. d3drm.dll
  7. Click on the following T-Hawk ZIP model file, download, open and place the files in the FMS Model directory C:\Program Files\FMS\Model
    1. T-Hawk.zip
  8. Start FMS . From the Windows Start Button, choose "All Programs" and select the "Flying Model Simulator" folder and then FMS 2.0 Beta7 beneath.
  9. Choose the T-Hawk Model.From the top menu bar, choose MODEL>LOAD>thawk.par.
  10. Enter the Joystick setup from the top menu bar.
    Choose CONTROLS>ANALOG CONTROL and select JOYSTICK INTERFACE then click on MAPPING / CALIBRATION

    1. Click the CALIBRATION button
    2. Rotate both joystick in circular motions that exercise the full range of stick moment.
    3. Click the NEXT button
    4. Center the two sticks. Set the left stick to center. The right stick is spring loaded and should be in center position at rest. Also set the trim wheels to center so the white mark is in the center.
    5. Click FINISH.
    6. Set the following Mapping for T-Hawk
      1. Rudder: 3
      2. Elevator: 2
      3. Aileron: 1
      4. Throttle: 4
      5. Tail,Nick:,Roll & Pitch do not apply.
      6. uncheck all INV and EXP boxes
    7. Click OK

This completes the installation!
