T-HAWK
RTF Training Packages
These “Intro-to-Flight” Buddy-Box packages were created to promote RC
flight by providing instructors and pilots wanting to share their knowledge
and hobby, with a simple and value-priced system that assures successful
first-time flying experiences.
|
|
There's
no substitute for learning from an experienced pilot.
While videos, onboard
flight assist features, and simulators may help students at some level,
the most recognized and successful training occurs with the partnership
of an experienced pilot and the eager student using a reliable radio set
joined by a training cable. From this we've introduced a new 4ch Tensho
Partner Radio™ System with our proven entry level RTF T-Hawk for assured
success! |
|
Why
the T-HAWK?
The T-Hawk 3Ch RTF Trainer with an upsized
480 motor and 58” training wing, is ideal for introductory lessons because
of its robust flight performance and stability at slower speeds allowing
students more time to respond. Instructors can then reward proficiency
by venturing into faster speeds and aerobatics using the included 40”
"speed" wing. At less than 1.5 lbs, instructors have more flight
field options than are typical for larger 4 channel counterparts. |
|
| After mastering the basics with the T-Hawk
RTF Trainer, the Tensho Partner
Radio™ System, now familiar to the student,
is ready to support intermediate and advanced lessons using your favorite
4 channel trainer. This package offers a complete and affordable training
solution for schools, RC clubs, flying events and experienced pilots teaching
friends or family members. |
|
The Tensho™ 4 Channel
System is available in a
72Mhz Professional Edition, and a 27Mhz Standard Edition
We understand that many experienced flyers are reluctent
to mix and match their own highly advanced radios to create a buddy-box
training system, when all that is needed is a simple system with hobby-grade
performance and reliability. Our new 4ch Tensho
Partner Radio™ Systems are just that,
featuring reliable FM PPM transmitter technology and manufactured by the
most advanced and trusted RC radio name in China, Tensho Model Company. |
|
72Mhz Professional
Edition
Sky Commander 4
Each 72Mhz Professional transmitter is a stand-alone fully
functional transmitter with a trainer toggle switch, battery voltage meter
with low battery audio alarm, servo ATV on two channels, and V-tail &
Elevon mixing so it may be used with a wide variety of aircraft with room
to grow. |
|
|
|
27Mhz Standard
Edition
FlyRite RC™
The 27Mhz radio system consists of an active transmitter
console with training switch and a matching student input console with
integrated training cord. An economical alternative with the same look
and feel as the Professional 72Mhz version. |
|
6Ch NarrowBand
FM Receiver
The Futaba compatible receiver, available with both 72Mhz
and 27Mhz systems, features a locator beeper and loss of signal alarm
to warn when the aircraft has been powered up before the transmitter.
The receiver’s design utilizes state-of-the-art cellular technology without
tuning coils for an exceptional combination of miniaturization, uncompromising
reliability and value. |

Hobby
Grade RC components and Durability
Durability and serviceability is especially important
with high usage from students in a learning environment. The T-Hawk Trainer
achieves exceptional marks in durability using an impact resistant plastic
fuselage to cushion nose-first strikes, while the propeller and motor remain
safe in the rear. The tail boom in this new Trainer version is carbon fiber-epoxy
for increased endurance and 2” longer for improved handling & stability
when using the long training wing. Furthermore, the wing midsections are
specially treated with fiber tape to protect the flight critical leading
and trailing wing edges. Unlike toy RTFs, all pre-installed RC components
are hobby grade quality and may be individually replaced as needed to keep
your T-Hawk Trainer flying longer. |

RC Groups
December 2007
Conclusion
If your club is considering a way to get more people involved, this is the way to do it with a great deal of success. Think about the possibilities: have an open house and teach people to fly, use the system to transition new pilots to more advanced flight maneuvers, or install this system in a plane that you just want others to experience even for a few seconds. It is that easy, and because the system is proven it will get more pilots into your club.
Pluses: Durability, Every part duplicated, Large size and orange color, Large battery capacity
Minuses: Prop is close to your hand on launch -be careful

July 2007
Conclusion
The T-Hawk just makes
it so easy by putting everything into one package that learning
to fly is a snap after you locate an instructor. Even for experienced
pilots who want a break from their 44% scale aerobatic giants or
their high-performance Precision Pattern masterpieces, the T-Hawk
provides excellent flights and lots of fun. Frank Granelli

Conclusion
The T-Hawk is probably
the best overall training package on the market today. The model
is easy enough to fly and has good stability. It is also capable
of limited rudder/elevator aerobatics (stalls, spins, snap-rolls,
etc.), so beginners can progress through more than simply floating
the airplane above the airfield. The long training wing makes for
a model that flies reasonably slowly, which allows the beginner
to keep up with the airplane.
This is not a model
that a rank beginner can expect to pull out of the box and fly all
alone on the first try. However, with a little help from an experienced
friend, it is entirely possible for a beginner to be taught using
the T-Hawk. Add in the buddy-box option and the T-Hawk becomes an
ideal trainer.
Indeed, it is no overstatement
to suggest that every club in the country would do well to invest
in the complete T-Hawk setup. Unlike traditional glow-powered trainers,
the T-Hawk will allow even complete novices to solo in just a few
sessions. And in a culture that thrives on instant gratification,
such quick results are satisfying for both student and instructor.
